Trash Collection

 

Residential trash services in North Springfield are a direct contract between the homeowner and the service provider. When switching services be sure to personally cancel your old service and sign up for the new one. Some service providers offer to cancel your old service for you. They do not have the authority to do that and your old company will continue charging you for their service until you personally call them and cancel.

 

The service providers in our area include:

    • American Disposal Services (703 368-0500)
    • Virginia Trash Services (703 971-4010)
    • CSI Disposal Services (703 444-3181 x110)
    • AAA Disposal Services (703 818-8222)
    • New Vision Trash & Recycling (703 331-0600).

For commercial service there is Potomac Disposal Services (703 560-8866). All offer similar services and competitive rates; often any of them will match their competitor's rates.

 

AAA is the only one that offers us a flat rate for all North Springfield residents. The current rate effective July 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011 is $26.00 per month; $23.00 per month for those age 62 and older. The rate is subject to revision if the County raises the dumping fee AAA must pay. If you did not receive a notice from them, to receive this rate you must call AAA at (703) 818-8222 and request the North Springfield rate because the Civic Association does not have the authority to negotiate on your behalf. We can only ask AAA what they are willing to offer. We do not endorse AAA; we are only passing on the rates as they have offered them to the community.
